I do not use the "buy it now option" so I always suggest that you place a "proxy bid" on the maximum price you are willing to pay for the item. As long as no one goes above your "proxy bid", you win!!
Most of our items are ONE of a KIND, RARE and UNUSUAL. They are VALUABLE NOW and will become more VALUABLE as time goes on. LEAVE FEED BACK FOR US AND WE WILL DO THE SAME FOR YOU!
Don't forget that eBay will place proxy bids for you!! I have had several people lose their auction in the last few minutes because they did not place a "proxy bid". What is a 'proxy bid'? Lets say the bid is at $10.00 but you are going to be out of town when the auction goes off. Now lets say you are really willing to pay $100.00 for it. You can go ahead and bid your $100.00 and as long as no one goes over that, YOU WIN, eBay will not make your maximum bid of $100 now but, every time someone places a bid lets say $1.00 higher than your $10.00, eBay will automatically bid for you (lets say the bid will now go to $11.50) eBay will tell them that they have been out bidden. This will continue until that person quits bidding or, finally goes over your bid of $100.00. That is why I say that, If you REALLY want an item, go ahead and bid YOUR maximum bid. As long as no one is willing to go higher than YOUR maximum bid, you win. However, if somebody else wants it more than you do they can keep bidding and beat you out of your auction. Just last week I had a customer lose their bid on a Harley because they answered the phone and was out bidden.
